This tray is made of thinly sliced wood veneer.

Compared to other wood species, the feel of the veneer after it has been finished gives the impression of the grain of the wood.

Wood has a characteristic of appearing different colors depending on the angle of light and the direction from which it is viewed. Taking advantage of this feature, the veneers are cut into triangles and pasted together around the center, creating the appearance of rays of light emanating from the center of the tray.

The round tray is lighter and easier to handle than solid wood trays.
