Ebony is a hardwood of the family Oysteraceae that grows in Southeast Asia.

It is a very slow-growing tree, and is highly valued as the best quality wood in the world because of its heavy hardness, high density, semi-permanent durability, and the unique atmosphere of its glossy black grain, making it rare.

For this tray, we carefully selected grain portions with moderate stripes in black and pasted them together in a radial pattern from the center.

Wood has the characteristic of appearing different colors depending on the angle of light and the direction in which it is viewed. Taking advantage of this feature, the veneers are cut into triangles and pasted together in a circular pattern from the center, giving the design the appearance of rays of light emanating from the center.

The round tray is lighter and easier to handle than solid wood trays.
