This tray is made of thinly sliced wood veneer.
The indigo-dyed tray is dyed using the traditional indigo dyeing method called "Hakko-ken" with tate indigo.
The indigo-dyed white sycamore tray, with its characteristic luster pattern (shrinkage), further enhances the beautiful ripple-like pattern that spreads when a drop of water falls on the surface of the tray.
The indigo color, produced by dyeing natural wood in the traditional and natural way, will grow in your daily life, and you will enjoy its change over the years.
Wood has the characteristic of appearing different colors depending on the angle of light and the direction in which it is viewed. Taking advantage of this feature, veneers cut into triangles are laminated around the center of the piece, creating the appearance of rays of light emanating from the center of the piece.
The rectangular tray can be used at the table with tableware on it or as an interior decoration item, for example, when combined with plants.
