Product Summary:

This is an authentic Japanese natural whetstone (Shiage-toishi / finishing stone) sourced from the famous Shofunoyama Hideriyama mine in Kyoto, Japan. Known for the "Tomae" layer, this stone provides an incredibly soft and gentle touch on blade edges, ensuring a smooth and pleasant sharpening experience. It produces a beautiful, traditional cloudy finish (Kasumi finish) on steel.

Condition:

Unused item. As a characteristic of natural stones, there are minor layer lines and side fissures, which have been carefully and lightly reinforced/sealed on the sides to prevent further splitting. It does not go all the way around the stone and does not affect its sharpening performance.
